Taylor Swift's "Anti-Hero" music video received criticism for one particular moment, which appears to have triggered an alteration on at least one platform.

Fans have noticed that a contentious scene in Taylor Swift's Grammy-winning video from her tenth studio album, "Midnights," that displayed the term "fat" on a scale has been removed from the Apple Music version.

According to Swift's Instagram, the song's music video, which she wrote and directed, is intended to show her "nightmare scenarios and intrusive thoughts."

When a close-up of the scale exposes the word "FAT" rather than a number, the user is devastated. Swift shakes her head in dismay as the other Swift casts a downward glance.

The video does not cut to the word in the Apple Music version, which some proponents of body acceptance felt was fatphobic.

The contentious scene was still present on the music video's YouTube version as of Wednesday afternoon.

Swift has already alluded to her past challenges with compulsive eating and issues with body image.

Swift claimed in the documentary "Miss Americana" she would occasionally "prompt me to just starve a little bit - just stop eating" in response to negative images and remarks about her physique.

Even "The View" co-host Sunny Hostin addressed the controversy around the video, saying detractors "missed the point."

But the popularity of the album seems to have been unaffected by the dispute. According to Billboard, which cited the music data company Luminate, Swift's latest album, which was published on October 21, has sold more than 1.2 million album units in the US during its first three days of release. Pre-orders are included in the original sales figures.

Thanks to "Midnights," Swift has also surpassed Drake as the most-streamed artist on Spotify in a single day.
